PRESS RELEASE
THE APPLE BROTHERS- OLD TIME SATURDAY NIGHT

Acoustic Spectrum Records is proud to announce the release of
The Apple Brothers, "Old Time Saturday Night" CD.

The project features Brad Apple on guitars, mandolin, octave mandolin, bass, and vocals and Brandon Apple on fiddles, mandolin, and octave mandolin. Special guests include Rickie Simpkins (Tony Rice Unit, Virginia Squires) on fiddle and mandolin, Scott Vestal (Sam Bush Band) on banjo, David Johnson on clawhammer banjo, and Randy Kohrs on dobro and vocals.

Brad and Brandon Apple grew up in a musical family, and were started out in music by their grandfather who rooted them in the tradition of bluegrass and old-time music. For many years they were well known on a regional level playing the bluegrass festival circuit and regular appearances at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Brandon quickly worked his way to being known as one of the finest fiddlers in the country, winning numerous fiddle competitions including the SPBGMA national fiddle contest, the Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddle Championship in Athens, Alabama, and many more. He has toured nationally as a member of country star Clint Black’s band, and has appeared on such noteworthy television shows as the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Brad is a winner of the prestigious Grand Lake Mandolin Championship held by Jana Jae in Grove, Oklahoma, as well as an award winning guitar player. Among his other credits are television soundtrack work, including the A&E Network program, Biography, and songwriting for many fine bluegrass groups including Auldridge, Bennett, & Gaudreau and Michelle Nixon and Drive.

"Old Time Saturday Night" features a variety of material, both original and traditional in origin. Listeners are sure to be delighted by such selections as “Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine,” “Diane’s Waltz,” “Old Time Saturday Night”, and many more.
